No one wants to be the bearer of bad news, but businesspeople sometimes must be. How can they clearly communicate the bad news while preserving (or gently ending) business relationships?
This mini-course helps participants write bad news messages. They'll learn how to analyze the situation—understanding the bad news, how their reader will react, and what they want out of the situation. Participants will discover a formula for crafting effective bad news messages. They'll also learn how to refine tone and verb voice for clear, compassionate communication.
Explanations, examples, and videos teach key concepts, and digital activities for writing and editing help participants practice what they learn. Upon successful completion, they receive certification for 0.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Watch this brief video to see how it all works:
